National Car Care Month: April 2015

Car Care Month checklist for Kenosha Racine WI

It’s that special time of year again! We get to move from snowy cold blowing winter into the season of rain showers and allergies. We get to drive out of the shivers and icicles, and into dandelions and humidity. It’s a great time to be alive and we want to make sure that your car drives into the spring feelings as great as it can! April is National Car Care Month, so we are giving you your National Car Care Month checklist for Kenosha Racine WI. Read on to find out how to get your car ready for the warmer weather!

Keeping your car in great condition will make it last longer and look nicer. We all want a car we can trust to get us where we need to go, and regular maintenance will help that happen.

#1: Check the Fluids! Your car is full of them. This includes your engine oil, windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.

#2: Hoses and Belts connect many important parts in your vehicle. Check to be sure they all look good. No cracks, frayed ends, or worn out places.

#3: Check your battery. You might need a new one, but most likely all you’ll need to do is make sure your connection is clean and doesn’t have any corrosion.

#4: How do the brakes look? You’ll want to have these inspected at your next oil change. One bad brake day and you might be in real trouble!

#5: Look over your exhaust system: any leaks or damage will usually make a noticeable noise. It’s important to get these fixed up as quickly as possible!

#6: The steering and suspension systems needs to be checked annually. This includes your shocks, struts and other related components.

#7: Look at your tires to check for adequate tire pressure and tread. You might need a wheel alignment if the tread isn’t wearing evenly.

#8: Lights and Wipers! You want to make sure that your wipers keep the rain off your windshield and that your lights are all working. It’s dangerous to drive in bad weather or at night without these in top shape!

Well, that’s it for our quick list. Of course, it always a good idea to bring your vehicle in for a regular oil change every so often (check your vehicle manual to see how often). Give our service center a call or schedule an appointment with our skilled professionals. We will get things figured out and get your car back on the road in no time!
